All of my recipes use an Instant Pot Duo 6 litre model

HP - High Pressure this is accessed from the manual button on your Instant Pot and is the most used setting. Once you select manual you can alternate between high and low pressure. and set the cooking time. Make sure the lid is closed and the value set to seal. the time will show and the pot will beep once it has reached pressure and the cooking has begun.

LP - Low Pressure as above but the Low Pressure version.

Saute -  This is selected from the Saute button, you also have the options to alternate between three different levels of heat (Less, Normal and More) using the adjust button.

Keep Warm - This is selected via the Keep Warm/Cancel button and can be used to keep whatever is in the pot warm until you are ready to use.

NPR - Natural Pressure Release Basically this is allowing the pot the time to naturally release the pressure that has built up in during the cooking process. By leaving the pot alone once the cooking time as finished the pot will naturally release the pressure and the value will pop up releasing the lid once it has finished. The time will depend on what you were cooking and the amount of liquid involved. You may wants this extra cooking time or not depending on the recipe and time available. You can quick release (QPR) by moving the value to the unsealed position. Hot steam will be released quickly into the air (so be careful!) until the value pops and the lid is released.

Trivet - Metal or silicone tray with legs and handles to allow you to cook above the bottom of the pot. Useful for steaming, using a separate pot within the pot (or PIP) or basically holding anything off the floor that might burn. If using PIP remember you still need to add minimum water when pressure cooking.
